Fordyce Burn September 2009. Just back below the top of its banks.
The Fordyce burn just below the level of its banks.
The entrance to the woodland walkway now a muddy bed. The burns escape route taking away the pebble pathway with it.
November 2009 saw a second period of heavy rain. A lot of debris being washed down the burn and ending up on the bridge behind the Joiners workshop.
While the bridge behind the Joiners Workshop got covered in debris the bridge behind Fordyce Kirk was completely washed away. This was just one of many structures along with summer houses, sheds and fences that were carried away.
The Fordyce kirk bridge ended up a good few hundred feet further down stream before becoming grounded on the banks.
The September flood removed some areas of the pebbles with a small amount of gouging. The November flood took large areas of the underlying pathways completely away.
A large section of pathway completely gone and now a cove area in the burn.
The power of the water can be seen by the large section of pathway washed away.
